KARUPPAN productions is a small enterprise by a few researchers in the fields of Indian and South-East Asian cultural studies. We are dedicated to the documentation of those cultures and produce thematic Video- and Photo-CDs.KPVCD001 shows two short documentary films of the "Installation of the Clay Horses" - the major annual festival conducted in temples of the village guardian deity Aiyanar. The organisers of the festival as well as the priests in the Aiyanar-temples are the Velar, the potters of the region, who also manufacture the "Clay Horses".
