Description of E-book set: The Right Path of Yiquan & Wang Xiangzhai Discusses the Essence of Combat Science:

A set of two e-books on the martial art of Yiquan/Dachengquan:

"The Right Path of Yiquan" was the first book of Mr. Wang Xiangzhai, written in 1928, in which he thoroughly discusses all aspects of Yiquan from training to theory, philosophy, and history of Chinese martial arts. This book gives an excellent historical insight into Yiquan as it was practised during its early days. Wang also discusses the philosophical subjects of Tao and Zen, using traditional Chinese concepts to explain human movement, health, and martial arts. Although Wang later gradually dropped the traditional concepts from the way of modern science, this book is still a treasure to any martial arts practitioner who can see behind the concepts and learn from the ancient wisdom.

"Wang Xiangzhai Discusses the Essence of Combat Science" is a series of long interviews with Mr. Wang Xiangzhai, from two Beijing newspapers published in 1940, compiled together. Wang answers questions about Yiquan (known as Dachengquan at that time) and martial arts in general, and also specifically discusses other martial arts such as Taijiquan, Baguazhang, Xingyiquan, etc. giving suggestions to their practitioners, and comments on some of the most famous masters of these arts. Mr. Wang also discusses some concrete training methods and philosophy, and explains some difficult philosophical concepts of Zen and Taoism.

By buying these two books together, you save $5USD (Five US Dollars). [PDF, ZIP packed]
