ProjectCompanion - time reporting and project support
The system provides organizations with an information infrastructure for carrying out multiple projects. Examples of functionality are: shared action management, time and expense reporting, project plans, status reports, shared documents folders, project diaries, contact information, project handbooks, invoice data export and support for several currencies.
Supporting organizations
ProjectCompanion provides support for team members, project managers, administrators and company managers. It thus contributes to the operative project work as well as to the decision-making and administrative functions.
Market focus
ProjectCompanion is used in more than 10 countries in areas such as consulting, software development, marketing and product development. The system has been developed to support dynamic, mobile and action-oriented work.
System structure
ProjectCompanion consists of a Web Tool, a Management Console, Palm OS clients and a Report Tool. The Report Tool is based on Microsoft Access, which provides flexibility and makes custom report development easy. The Web system runs on Microsoft Internet Information Services. The database is Microsoft Access 2000 or later.

The Standard Edition download file is delivered with a default freeware license where it is possible to manage three projects at the same time with no user restriction in the license. If you purchase 10 licenses of the Standard Edition, you will get a site license with no restriction on the number of users. Note that Microsoft recommends a maximum of 15 simultaneous users on Microsoft Access databases. For larger installations, we recommend ProjectCompanion Professional Edition, which is based on Microsoft SQL Server.
System requirements
Server requirements: The recommended server platform is english version of Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional with Microsoft Internet Information Services as web server. It is also possible to run on NT 4.0 Server and XP Professional. For test purposes, it can be run on Microsoft Windows 98 with Personal Web Server.
Client requirements: Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01 or higher. Palm OS 3.0 or higher with HotSync on the desktop computer. Microsoft Access is required to use the Report Tool.
